Each business sends under its own identity, from a number assigned to that business. Carrier approval and customer consent come before live SMS. Fusion helps you prepare the enrollment and handles the provider setup with you.
For approved service templates such as appointment reminders, technician arrival updates, and invoice reminders. The number and toll-free verification belong to your business alone. The current notification path does not include a free-form team inbox.
Customer conversations
A local number for your business
For personalized service replies and a team inbox, alongside approved automated service messages. A local number needs your business's A2P 10DLC brand and campaign approval. Dedicated two-way SMS is currently an Enterprise capability and still requires setup.
Toll-free numbers can technically support conversations, but the current Fusion notification path does not offer that upgrade. These options are not a shared sending pool: a number cannot represent multiple unrelated businesses. Ask us to confirm available features and costs before choosing or buying a number.
What happens before your first text?
Tell us what you actually plan to send.
Identify your legal business name, public website, monitored support contact, expected volume, and each message category. Bring realistic samples. Marketing and login codes need their own supported scope; do not include them just because another channel in Fusion can send them.
Publish your own SMS disclosures.
Your business needs public Terms and Privacy pages that describe its messages and consent handling. Fusion's platform policies do not replace your policies or register your business. The opt-in disclosure, policies, samples, and carrier request must agree.
Prepare enrollment in Fusion.
In Settings → Messaging, confirm your business details and assigned number, add a monitored HELP contact and your public policy links, then review the disclosure preview. The SMS choice on the hosted enrollment form is optional and unchecked. A customer record, general terms checkbox, or existing relationship is not SMS consent.
Wait for review and approval.
Fusion reviews the disclosure before the hosted opt-in form can collect consent. We then coordinate the applicable toll-free verification or 10DLC submission for your business and exact number. Carrier review can request changes; approval of the form alone does not turn on texting.
Verify, then activate.
After carrier approval, Fusion checks the assigned number and live STOP, HELP, and permitted re-enrollment behavior. SMS activates only when the number, approved use case, disclosure, and recipient consent all match. Send only the message types the customer agreed to receive.
Need a number or help with a returned request?
Contact us before purchasing a second number or starting another campaign. Today, number assignment and carrier submissions are assisted steps; the Messaging screen does not let you order or import a number yourself. We can review a carrier's exact feedback and the real opt-in flow together.
